GREAT GLEN PRIMER

Get prepared for your journey.

WHAT IS THE GREAT GLEN PRIMER?

The Great Glen Primer is a half hour class that will give you the basics needed to start learning how to accompany tunes in the Great Glen Course from day 1. In this short, easy lesson you will learn the standard D major chords of DADGAD and the basic jig rhythm. If purchased alongside the Great Glen Course, then sample exercises will be available on the Great Glen Facebook Hub for you to practice along with between the Primer and the Great Glen course beginning. Within the week you will be more than reday to begin learning how to play Celtic accompaniment in DADGAD!

In GREAT GLEN PRIMER you will:

  • Learn the “standard” DADGAD chords of D major
  • Learn the basic jig rhythm
  • Be ready to handle the material of Great Glen as soon as you start

HOW DO I TAKE PART?

  • Use your computer, tablet or phone to connect.
  • Video conference with Andy for 30 minutes
  • Take time to ask questions or go over anything you don’t understand.
  • Enjoy the feel of a festival or summer camp workshop.
  • Make yourself comfortable wherever you are.

The video conferencing platform you will be using is Google Meet.

Before the intro course begins, you will receive an email with links for both sessions. Simply get yourself settled in and then click on the link a little before each lesson starts.

NEXT SESSION:

Wednesday 4th March

8pm Atlantic Time

“If you were to try and hike the Great Glen in jeans and casual runners, you might do OK if the weather stays on your side, but I think we all want to be able to keep up with everyone else if things get challenging.

This primer course will make sure you’re as ready as possible before taking your first real steps on the journey.”
